Lake Ninieris is located in the neutral zone of the Gauja National Park, only 3 km from the center of Cesis. The average depth of the lake is 1.8 m, the maximum depth – 6.7 m, area – 12.4 ha.
The lake is surrounded by a pine forest. It is possible to walk around the lake on foot and observe its various shores – from light sandy shores to swamps. A large area around the lake is occupied by the forests of the Gauja National Park with hundred-year-old trees, berry, and mushroom sites. The area around the lake is suitable for hiking, cycling, skiing, and running. Also, there are well-maintained picnic areas and a beach with benches, rubbish bins, changing rooms, and toilets in the swimming area.
